Chef Giacomo Pastore shares a rich family tradition of culinary talent while partner (and wife) Alice Young brings her organizational management skills to the business. The team will impress you with their knowledge, skill and passion for all things culinary, but their message is easy to remember: simple, fresh, delicious, brought to you!

The Outdoor Chef is the caterer who doesn’t mess up your kitchen; the party that pulls up, lets you have a blast entertaining, and then pulls away when everyone has enjoyed their fill, leaving you with only a full tummy, happy memories, and some leftovers – if you’re lucky!
For those who thought the grill was for hamburgers, hot dogs, and the occasional steak for special events, The Outdoor Chef is a total paradigm shift.
At age seven, Giacomo began learning about grilling various types of meat over wood as he helped his father cook steaks, hamburgers, lamb, pork and turkey for family meals. Giacomo’s father had mastered grilling techniques by watching his father who emigrated to America from Italy in the early 1900s.
In a fortuitous set of circumstances, Giacomo accidentally made his first pulled pork BBQ as a teenager. A friend had asked him to cook a whole ham over wood. Giacomo was annoyed that the ham took more than twenty-four hours to reach the correct internal temperature. His father tasted the meat and announced that Giacomo had created delicious pork BBQ. Thereafter, Giacomo’s love for cooking over wood continued to grow.
Giacomo’s love for cooking expanded as he learned about creating classic Italian dishes such as minestrone, macaroni and cheese, stuffed shells and lasagna while watching his mother and grandmother cook. He excels in cooking these and many other tasty dishes over wood.
Because each event is ‘to order,’ we do take requests, and can customize a menu to any of your precise wishes and tastes!
